If arbitary waveform is generated than there is a bouncing behavior at the beginning of the signal. How can this be prevented?
Answer
In this article, the bounce behavior of the 33220A and the 33500A is described and measures to prevent it are presented.
For illustration purposes, an SCPI sequence is first written with Command Expert with which a sine wave is generated.
The result can be seen in the picture below:
As can be seen, there is a bouncing behavior at the beginning of the sine wave.
However, there is a way to deal with this problem. If one uses the burst function, then this transient behavior is no longer observable. This was tested with both devices with the following Command Expert Sequence.
As can be seen adding "burst" gives a clean sine wave.
